Messinkinen Guan Gong -patsas lukemassa kirjaa (s)

The detailing on the book pages is surprisingly crisp for such a compact piece, and the polished brass catches the light beautifully on my shelf. It’s a rare pose, having him reading instead of wielding the guandao, which makes it stand out from the usual statues.

I've been hunting for a Guan Gong piece that wasn't the usual sword pose, and this reading-a-book version is exactly the rare find I wanted. The brass has a nice heft to it and the book pages actually have visible lines when you look close. It's a smaller size but holds its own on my desk.

The detailing on this brass Guan Gong statue is incredible, especially the way the book is sculpted in his hands. It’s a rare pose that really stands out on my shelf, and the weight of the piece makes it feel substantial. Shipping was quick and it arrived without a scratch.
